Summary: Ah yes, Doug McClure. This man, at least in our opinion, has the highest reputation as a man who's tangoed with all kinds of prehistoric creatures in films. But perhaps his most notable endeavor with them was when he went to the lost continent of Caprona.

History: Somewhere hidden behind the icy walls of the South Pacific, the lost sub-continent of Caprona stands tall. It is a lush, yet sometimes barren landscape of primitive plants, people, and animals. But its best attraction are the dinosaurs that mostly want to eat you.

Notable Kills: A pterosaur manages to carry away a caveman with only its teeth. That takes some real strength there.

Final Fate: Many creatures perish via gunfire most of the time, and frequent cataclysms do the rest. The only notable one we can think of is when the Scutosaurus gets impaled by a falling stalactite.

Powers/Abilities: None

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3-Admittingly, most of the effects work can fall utterly flat, particularly with the pterosaurs and that one stegosaurus. The Scutosaurus also stands out for being oddly adorable, kind of like an obnoxious dog.

Trivia: -Scutosarus was an ancient Permian anapsid. Its name means "Shield Lizard".

-Caprona is a frequent location in the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs that these films are based on. Aside from dinosaurs, it also harbors animals like Mastodon and Megalania.
